Guest speaker: Dr. Rick Donlon

CEO at Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF)

Rick currently serves as the CEO at Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF) in Memphis, TN. CCHF is the domestic medical missions conference designed for people who see medicine as a calling, and are committed to missional, faith-driven healthcare here in the United States.

Dr. Donlon went to Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans followed by a combined internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Dr. Donlon has co-founded several healthcare initiatives, including Resurrection Health and Christ Community Health Services, which focus on serving low-income populations in the Memphis area. His recent publications include contributions to book chapters on healthcare missions, emphasizing the importance of serving underserved populations.

Dr. Rick Donlon

Session 1: Gates Stormed By a Life Transformed; How God used His Word, His Spirit, and Suffering to refine a doctor.

Using the circumstances of my life and work among the poor in inner-city Memphis, TN, I’ll discuss the necessity of continuously hearing from God in His word and communicating with him through prayer, especially the Lord’s Prayer. I’ll also discuss the importance of Christian community and the role of suffering in transforming disciples.

Session 2: Don’t Miss the Banquet; How “good” things might prevent you from responding to God’s invitation.

Using Jesus’ Parable of the Great Banquet in Luke Chapter 14, we’ll explore the risks of improper devotion to our vocations, our possessions, and our relationships. Regardless of the stage of our career, healthcare workers are especially vulnerable to being overcome by the pressures of “good things”.

We’re excited to host Dr. Donlon, a national Christian conference speaker, at our event! Don’t miss this opportunity to be encouraged and strengthened!
