Habakkuk 2:2 – And the Lord answered and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (KJV)
We often times have many ideas stirring in our hearts and imaginations developing in our minds. What do we do with such thoughts? Great beginnings of a thing, but more times than naught, it fades away unaccomplished, unattended to…gone.
Whether the disappearance is due to excuses made or just the lack of action on our part, the process of productive and useful activity go by the way side. What would happen if we grabbed hold of the stirring in our hearts, that idea, that desire, that I want to…and ran with it?
Think of it, you heard about the experience of those who went on a mission trip. You hear testimony after testimony of the good, the change and the blessings that went forth. You listen to the reports of the help, assistance and love that was poured out. Your heart stirs and you wonder, “would I, could I, should I…?” And then like other thoughts, you allow the questioning to go away and dismiss the idea of your participation in what seemingly has been such a blessing to many who went as well as those who were on the receiving end.
Ask yourself why did your heart stir? Why did the mention of missions catch your attention? Could it be that the Spirit of the Lord is drawing you? Catch hold of the thought to actually participate. Speak with those who have gone before. Pray about joining a team. Be sensitive to God’s response in your heart. Like any other well-planned event or preparation, begin to “list it, write it and make it plain.”
Make a list of what is stirring in your heart. See it for yourself on paper. Write down your thoughts, ideas, questions and goals. In doing so, it will help you make the vision of your participation plain. It will help you sort out and make sense of all that is in your mind. Action on thoughts brings results.
So don’t allow the opportunity to pass you by because you didn’t grab hold of the stirring in your heart. You have been gifted with skills, talents, abilities and love. There is a place for you on the mission field. You’d be surprised at the difference it would make for you and countless others if you would consider and act upon the impression to go.
So “list it, write it and make it plain!” Encourage yourself in the things of God and be blessed!!
