MISSION SCRIPTURE HIGHLIGHT
Exodus 9:16
“But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”
It is such a wonderful thing to be able to help someone in need. To extend a helping hand, a gentle touch or smile where a positive difference can be made. What better way to show someone the love of God than to love them in the specific way they need. We are all extensions of God’s hands, His feet, His eyes, His heart. When we surrender to Him every part of our being He can freely move through us to do the most awesome things in the lives of others.
It has been often said that we are blessed to be a blessing to others. We are not to be selfish and think only of me, myself and I. Not just thinking of me and mine only. We are to be generous in our lives on every level. You can rest assured it will always come back to you. Maybe not in the exact way you gave or shared, but the principle remains and works the same.
Genesis 12:2 reads, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” God was speaking to Abram at the time, but what He stated is true to each of us today. God blesses us in so many ways and when we bless others, blessings are multiplied…theirs and ours. It is not even all about the material blessings that we are able to receive, give out or share, but it is also about the blessings that are of the physical, mental, spiritual and life realms. When we are blessed to come out of a particular situation or circumstance or when a way has been made when it looked like there was no way the move of God is seen. Others see what has taken place and a great witness and praise goes forth for the one true and living God. He pours out His love on us, in that we would pour out our love on others.
So rejoice in the Lord when He blesses you however He blesses you. And in doing so, be sure to give Him all praise and glory that others will see His goodness, mercy and grace.
In your blessing, be a blessing to someone else.
Our blessings reflect God’s love, His goodness and His greatness.
Proclaim His name today.
