Missions: What About the Children?
You feel called to go on a Mission trip. You carry medical and dental supplies; you carry materials for building improved structures; and you have an agenda to share from village to village, but…
What about the children?
What do you have for the children that it will make a difference and have a valuable impact on their lives in regards to eternity. Matthew 19:14 states, “Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” We can bring smiles to their faces by giving them small tokens and toys. By reaching out to them and giving them a hug or hand on the shoulder. That does wonders and is such a needed blessing, but what if we go further than play, games and tokens and give them child evangelism.
Let’s not forget to minister to their heart and spirit by introducing them to the love of Jesus and the good news of the gospel.
In trying to meet the need of child evangelism on mission trips, I ran into difficulty finding information to answer my question: “what about the children?” Below are some resource links that hopefully will help if you find yourself asking the same question.
One idea leads to another, so use what has been gathered as a springboard to other ideas. Let’s equip ourselves to reach out and touch the children of the nations with the good news that they are loved and can have hope in the love and person of Jesus Christ.
