“In the same way, let your light so shine before others, so that they may see your good works, and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
It is a beautiful thing that each one of us has a light within to shine. A light, you may ask. Yes, a light, a beautiful, wonderful light! No one has a light quite like the one or ones you have. Isn’t that amazing? God so graciously deposited gifts, talents and abilities great and small unique to individuals. Before you even entered into to the physical world, God already assigned who you would be, what you would do and where you would be. He even designated people you would be a blessing to. It’s all there inside you.
Many things have already occurred that you’ve done and accomplished that were blessings. Some knowingly and some you didn’t even realize. Your presence here in this world at this particular time is not a coincidence. You have been strategically placed at such a time as this. Before day one, your existence has made a difference and has fulfilled or is fulfilling the plan and purpose of God. That purpose is to bless God the Father and to bless others.
Your presence here with your personality and routine of life is what God flows through. You may think your hobby, your job, your associations, your thoughts and actions are all happenstance. Think again. Everything you do affects others in a positive or sometimes in a negative way. But let’s concentrate on the positive. A simple smile to a stranger or one whose countenance is down goes along way. A poem written and shared in a group meeting blesses the heart of someone who needed a timely word. A job where your extra hand or expertise was needed was successful because of your commitment and drive. Where there was lack and you had the resource or substance to share you made a difference. Your character and resolve in how you handle situations, people or events encourages another to act accordingly. These are only a few examples of “lights” shining in the world.
When people see your “light” they also are seeing the light of the Father from whom your light comes from.
Don’t hold back or think anything is too insignificant. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Remember, God will give increase to whatever you place in His hands. Just like the two fish and the loaves of bread fed the multitude, God will multiply the good in you to be a blessing to others.
So, the thought from within is to…
Shine, Shine, Shine!!!
